Caving, or the art of exploring caves, is enjoyed by many people around the world, many of them Americans.  Caving is a sport.  It is done for educational and scientific reasons, but also for recreation.  Working all of the muscle groups and often accelerating the heart rate, caving exercises your entire body as you climb and crawl through passages and tunnels.  Often rope work is necessary offering more cardiovascular workout and producing strong muscles.  It’s important to remember to stretch and prepare your muscles before any trip, and to stretch again afterwards.  Like any strength training, caving over a period of time will show improve  your cardiovascular health and will reduce your chances of heart disease.  Like other workouts, caving is a rewarding experience, and the spectacular sights underground are a fabulous reward for your efforts.  If you are looking for a way to tone your muscles, gain strength, and improve your health, caving is able to provide you all of these things.  It is important to know of any preexisting conditions, as you would want to consult with a physician before beginning any workout routine, make sure you are in healthy enough condition before going underground.  The rewards caving are many, and improving your health all around is a great reason to start this adventurous sport and hobby.
